Foreword

A total of 122 teams have qualified for the 2023 TAC World Championship or have been invited by us. A maximum of 64 teams can participate. More about this issue and how we see it can be found here.

The invitations and registrations

There is no big hurry and no registration form!

Invitations will only be sent by e-mail. The invitation comes from the address info@tac-verlag.de and goes to both players of the team. Also check your spam/junk folders, especially the teams from which we only have one email address.

Your registration this time is done by a simple reply to the invitation email with YES for "yes, we want to participate" or NO for "nope, no time and no desire". One answer per team is sufficient. With a "Yes" your starting place is secured. A prompt answer would be desirable and fair to the waiting teams.

If you can't or don't want to take part in the World Championships, regardless of whether you have already registered or not, please let us know as soon as possible!

Everything else, such as payment of the entry fee and checking your food order in Grubet, will follow once the registration phases have been completed.

The phases of the invitations

The 1st phase

is finished. Invitations have been extended to former and reigning world champions as well as teams coming from far away and a few teams to whom our thanks and yours go.

The 2nd phase

starts on 13.05. and runs until 25.05.2023. 32 teams will be drawn into this invitation phase and will receive the invitation mail. These teams then have until 25.05. and a registration means a secure starting place. With the first registrations from phase 2, the list of registered teams will also be updated. The updating of this list will depend on how much time I have.

The 3rd phase

will start on 26.05.2023 and will be similar to phase 2. The updating of the list of registered teams will depend on how I find time (see below). Phase 3 will end on 09.05. or earlier if all teams from this phase have registered.

The waiting list

will be created with the list of invitations for phase 3. and their order will be drawn by lot. With each cancellation from phase 3. or a cancellation of an already registered team, the top team of the waiting list moves up, is invited and so it goes on until we have 64 teams full.

The variables in this procedure:

  • As phase 1. is still running and phase 2. is about to start, we do not yet know how many teams will be in phase 3.
  • As I am travelling with the camper van during the Whitsun holidays, I have to see how and when I can manage the updates of the registrations and the start of the 3rd phase.
